My hearing has deteriorated over my younger years starting with the Army while in the Korean War. My first hearing aids were fitted in the year 2000. I did well with those custom instruments but when the Open, digitally programmable hearing aids came out there was such a tremendous difference in my ability to understand speech, and not have a 'stopped up' sensation, that my comfort levels changed so much.
